Educational Value of Wordle

Worldle is free online "word cloud" creator.  It allows you to create an interesting visual display of words relating what ever topic you choose.  You type the words in, Worlde creates a "word cloud" then  you can edit - color, font, style. language - if you don't like the cloud just hit re-layout and Wordle will rearrange your words based on your settings.  This tool allows educators to highlight words in a topic like mine below about our Amazing Animal Quest.  It allows students to use their creative talents to show their knowledge of a topic by creating their own "word clouds."  Wordle is easy to use, anyone can do it.  There are several uses for Wordle in a educational environment.  You could use them as discussion starters in a topic to ascertain known information, in a game format to review terms or play "fly swatter" vocabulary games or in "Guess the Word" as a review of information or in a synonym/antonym game.  There are many uses for a Wordle "word cloud."  I look forward to utilizing these in my educational path.
